2007 a Banner year for Abenaki Associates

January 26th, 2008

2007 was a banner year for Abenaki Associates! We have added several new professional staff members to meet the expanding needs of our First Nations’ client base from all areas of Canada.  We have also released several new software programs, and are in the final stages of transitioning some of our products to SaaS (Software as a Service).

Abenaki has been the only Aboriginal-owned Sage Accpac business partner since 1984.  In 2007 Abenaki was rated among the top 10 Sage Accpac partners in Canada for Client Satisfaction and also placed among the top partners for the number of new Sage Accpac clients.

Percy Barnaby, our President, received an Honourable Mention in the National Category for the Xerox Excellence in Aboriginal Leadership Award and Carol Ann Barnaby, our Vice President was appointed as the Chair of AFOA Atlantic Chapter and also sits on the AFOA National Board.

2008 promises to be an exciting year, with new product releases (SWIMS), and the introduction of Software as a Service (SaaS) for First Nations who do not wish to purchase software, but simply use our web-based software over the Internet.  Watch our site for the new releases of our popular Social Assistance and Case Management, Education Management and other new software and services.  Come and visit us at one of our booths at the AFOA National Conference and find out more about what Abenaki can do to help you with Comprehensive Community Planning and management of all programs.

Don’t take chances with the health of your community members!       In response to the increasing concern over safe water for First Nations’ communities, Abenaki Associates has developed the SWIMS system to help you manage your water and sewage infrastructure.  SWIMS is a state-of-the-art management tool that can integrate with your community’s Geographical Information System (GIS).  Use SWIMS to manage your Water and Sewage systems on a day to day basis and to help you in the preparation of long term plans to maintain healthy water infrastructure through the development of a well-documented Capital Plan. SWIMS allows you to enter details on all aspects of your water & sewer infrastructure, track reported problems, scheduled maintenance to be performed and maintenance items that are overdue as well as work orders. Extensive reporting includes costs of tasks to be performed, Gantt charts, work orders, problem details, and other asset details.  A detailed cost report is also available in Excel format for further analysis.

SWIMS is not just for water management, though!!  You can record all assets (buildings, equipment, etc.) in this user-friendly system and track maintenance schedules.  Call us today for more information!
